The Christmas season
starts witht the fireman hanging Christmast lights
up and down Main Street in Cheyenne Wells. Then
Santa arrives on a fire truck shortly before Christmas.
Santa passes out candy and takes any last minute requests
for the local children before he travels to the local
nursing home and hospital to do the same for the residents. |

To help celebrate the coming of Spring in Eastern Colorado
that same truck delivers the Easter Bunny to the nursing
home to assist the local kids in the Annual Easter Egg
Hunt. |

|
As the 4th of July
rolls around we set off a free fireworks display at
the County Fairgrounds. Then later that month
at the local Tumbleweed Festival, we sponsor a soaking
water challenge and later that afternoon we serve up
a couple hundred pounds of hand prepared Rocky Mountain
Oysters. |

|
|
To close out the summer, for a great cause, we participate
in the MDA "Fill The Boot" Campaign. This
is just a small list of the major events we that do
for our community. Firemen can be seen just about anywhere
in Cheyenne Wells at local events like running the chains
at the local High School Football games or driving the
"Peanut Train" at the County Fair. |
